Dems plan for Post Office Buildings

If nothing else has pissed you off about this administration this might get to you.

The US has entered into a contract with a real estate firm to sell 56
buildings that currently house U.S. Post Offices. The government has
decided it no longer needs these buildings, most of which are located on
prime land in towns and cities across the country. The sale of these
properties will fetch about $19 billion.

A regular real estate commission will be paid to the company that was
given the exclusive listing for handling the sales. That company is CRI
and it belongs to a man named Richard Blum.

Richard Blum is the husband of Senator Dianne Feinstein. (Most voters and
many of the government people who approved the deal have not made the
connection between the two because they have different last names).

Senator Feinstein and her husband stand to make a fortune (est at between
$950 million and $1.1 billion!!) from these transactions. His company is
the sole real estate on the sale. CRI will be making a minimum of 3% and
as much as 6% commission on each and every sale.

All of the properties that are being sold are all fully paid for. They
were purchased with U.S. taxpayers dollars. The U.S.P.S. is allowed free
and c lea r, tax exempt use. The only cost to keep them open is the cost to
actually keep the doors open and the heat and lights on. The United
States Postal Service doesn't even have to pay county property taxes on
these subject properties.

Would you put your house in foreclosure just because you couldn't afford
to pay the electric bill?

Well, the folks in Washington have given the Post Office the OK to do it!
Worse yet, most of the net proceeds of the sales will go back to the
U.S.P.S, an organization that is so poorly managed that they have lost
$117 billion dollars in the past 10 years!

No one in the mainstream media is even raising an eyebrow over the
conflict of interest and on the possibility of corruption on the sale of
billions of dollars worth of public assets.

How does a U.S. Senator from San Francisco manage to get away with
organizing and lobbying such a sweet deal? Has our government become so
elitist that they have no fear of oversight?

And it's no mere coincidence that these two public service crooks have
different last names; a feeble attempt at avoiding transparency in these
type of transactions.

Pass this info on before it's pulled from the internet.

View the Latest Edition of "This Week @NASA" (Published March 19, 2021)

Last week was Spring Break for the world, but my world doesn't take breaks – it's GO GO GO!!!

The Hot Fire of the core stage is a pretty cool looking video….these are old shuttle engines in a 4 cluster with essentially the External Fuel Tank (ET) on top to build the Space Launch System or SLS.  SRB(Solid rocket motors) that strap on either side are recycled design from shuttle too, with a 5th segment of fuel.  NASA is so strapped for money that using existing designs is a cost effective way to create new.

With every change in white hose administration comes a new administrator.  Gee, wouldn't it be nice to have continuity in leadership?  It disrupts the organization and doesn't help efficiency, but ….it's fact. To all the people who "don't want to talk politics"….GOOD LUCK getting government that works for you!  At least Bill Nelson flew in space and "gets it"….

Every have to move cars in the driveway to get the last one out?  That is sort of what we had to do on ISS to free up "parking space" for another visiting vehicle – we moved the Russian Soyuz (their launch and reentry capsule for astronauts to get to and from the ISS) to another docking port.  Funny, problems on earth and in space – nothing changes.  What you need is at the BACK of the closet!

For all of you interested in looking back at earth from orbit (great way to assure the earth isn't flat!  J  ), there is a super website out there available to the public:  EARTHOBSERVATORY.NASA.GOV/TE

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=EARTHOBSERVATORY.NASA.GOV%2FTE

Jupiter, a so-called "gas Giant", has phenomenon occurring that are unique to Jupiter.  Little known and poorly covered in the press, are the NASA efforts to explore these wonders of Creation.  Kids are always interested in "planet facts"!  Share with them!

I can't say I would be impressed with having a space rock named for me, but it IS a novel way to bring attention to the diversity of the NASA team.  In this troubled time of identity politics, I think the saddest thing is that those who "geeterdun" don't get sidetracked by such nonsense.  They see people for what they are, what they can do, and the value of ALL people.  funny, the allegation this is a racist country flies in the face EVERYONE flocks here to build a new life.  NASA certainly has its share of success stories in this area, and sets a wonderful example for the country.  Proud to be a part of that!

ENJOY!

Tom

DAMN FINE DOG

  · Judy, a purebred pointer, was the mascot of several ships in the Pacific, and was captured by the Japanese in 1942 and taken to a prison camp. There she met Aircraftsman Frank Williams, who shared his small portion of rice with her.

Judy raised morale in the POW camp, and also barked when poisonous snakes, crocodiles or even tigers approached the prisoners. When the prisoners were shipped back to Singapore, she was smuggled out in a rice sack, never whimpering or betraying her presence to the guards.

The next day, that ship was torpedoed. Williams pushed Judy out of a porthole in an attempt to save her life, even though there was a 15-foot drop to the sea. He made his own escape from the ship, but was then recaptured and sent to a new POW camp.

He didn't know if Judy had survived, but soon he began hearing stories about a dog helping drowning men reach pieces of debris after the shipwreck. And when Williams arrived at the new camp, he said: "I couldn't believe my eyes! As I walked through the gate, a scraggly dog hit me square between the shoulders and knocked me over. I'd never been so glad to see the old girl!"

They spent a year together at that camp in Sumatra. "Judy saved my life in so many ways," said Williams. "But the greatest of all was giving me a reason to live. All I had to do was look into those weary, bloodshot eyes and ask myself: 'What would happen to her if I died?' I had to keep going."

Once hostilities ceased, Judy was then smuggled aboard a troopship heading back to Liverpool. In England, she was awarded the Dickin Medal (the "Victoria Cross" for animals) in May 1946. Her citation reads: "For magnificent courage and endurance in Japanese prison camps, which helped to maintain morale among her fellow prisoners, and also for saving many lives through her intelligence and watchfulness".

At the same time, Frank Williams was awarded the PDSA's White Cross of St. Giles for his devotion to Judy. Frank and Judy spent a year after the war visiting the relatives of English POWs who had not survived, and Frank said that Judy "always provided a comforting presence to the families."

When Judy finally died at the age of 13, Frank spent two months building a granite and marble memorial in her memory, which included a plaque describing her life story.

A Hero of Two Koreas

Not every man has what it takes to defeat an armada with 13 ships. But then again, not every man is Admiral Yi Sun-Shin.

Today, the 16th-century admiral is one of the most-revered military figures in both Koreas—if not the most-revered. From his early days in the army of Joseon Korea, he has stood a cut above the rest.

At 37, he was able to lead his troops to success against the invading Jurchens, even capturing the Jurchen chief. But instead of rejoicing at his conquest, superior officers grew insecure in their own positions, which culminated in a plot to frame Yi for desertion. Yi was arrested and tortured for his alleged crime.

Media carry considerable powers on psychological priming.

Demoted to foot soldier after his release, Yi gradually worked his way back up the ranks with his own capabilities. At 45, he was promoted to admiral in the Joseon navy despite having no prior naval experience. He fended off many attacks by the Japanese, becoming one of the Japanese military's greatest adversaries.

To get around Yi, the Japanese sent a spy into the Joseon court to leak bits of false intel to the Koreans. This spy told the Joseon military that the Japanese were planning an attack and that Admiral Yi should prepare an ambush in a certain spot.

But the admiral correctly identified this advice as a trap. He refused to follow the misguided order, which got him jailed and tortured yet a second time and also sentenced to death. His supporters managed to persuade the king to change his mind, but Yi had to become a foot soldier once again.

The admiral's successor was not as brilliant as he was and soon whittled down the Korean fleet to 13 ships after a series of naval losses. Yi was quickly reinstated as admiral to turn the situation around.

With just 13 ships, he defeated a Japanese fleet of 333 at the Battle of Myeongnyang and left the battle with all 13 ships intact. This move thoroughly crippled the Japanese effort to take Korea, and Japan eventually brokered peace after the Battle of Noryang. It was the admiral's last battle, and he was tragically killed in action.

Not wanting to unnerve his troops, some of his last words were "We are about to win the war! Do not announce my death!"

Admiral Yi's posthumous name reflects the impact of his legacy on the Korean nation: Chungmu, meaning "loyal warrior."

There could hardly be a better name for a man who could still fight for a nation whose leaders had twice betrayed him—and hardly a worthier man to be included in the annals of war heroes.

The New Martyr ??

In the most powerful country on the planet. It's people say goodbye to one of it's "best" sons.

Even presidents are not buried like this. A golden coffin, a coach pulled by 4 white horses, hundreds of thousands of mourners sobbing, thousands kneeling, apologizing to the black population of quite a few states.

The Mayor of Minneapolis, sobbing, clutching the coffin with the body of the most worthy of the worthy citizens of America.

Choking on saliva, the ex-wife of the murdered weeps, though the last time she saw him was 6 years ago. That's when he left her with her three-month-old daughter. He hadn't sent alimony to his daughter over the years. However, the unhappy widow has been crying for a week that she was left without a breadwinner.

Therefore, compassionate Americans collected oodles of money for her. She received around $ 20 Million...... ....tthat's TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS... from the world, and money continues to flow in.

The University of Massachusetts has established a George Floyd scholarship.

The great Floyd's rap sheet listed robberies, for drug trafficking, for armed robberies (last time, holding a pregnant woman by the throat and putting a gun barrel to her belly while demanding money).

Then he worked a deal with the investigators. Floyd handed over all his accomplices so they reduced his sentence by several years.

Floyd's autopsy revealed drugs in his blood. This is the national hero of America of the 21st century. But there were followers. The Floyd love affair lives and grows.

Mass robberies and violence, as a sign of respect and grief for George, swept the US and now grow into a world wide event.

The most beautiful areas of our cities, including New York and Los Angeles, plus many others have now been destroyed. Probably never to return to their former beauty and elegance.

 89 policemen were injured.

A 17-year-old girl was horribly beaten and raped, hundreds of buildings were burned, and cars, streets, squares, parks were burned as well.  Historical statues torn down.

US presidential candidate Joe Biden also went to his knees.

I just watched the Democrat "leaders" of Congress kneel in the halls of Congress for about 9 minutes for the death of a black man named George Floyd.

I have never seen them kneel for a fallen POLICE OFFICER.

I have never seen them kneel for a fallen SOLDIER.

I have never seen them kneel for a MURDERED white man or woman.

I have never seen them kneel for the THOUSANDS of black on black murder victims.

I have never seen them kneel for the TENS OF THOUSANDS of elderly people that died in our nursing homes due to the Coronavirus.

I have to ask WHY are our Democrat leaders acknowledging the life of a criminal named George Floyd, as being MORE valuable and important than the lives of everyone else?????

Think about it?

USA—GAO To Review SPACECOM HQ Decision C4ISRNet | 03/24/2021 The Government Accountability Office (GAO) says it will review the Air Force's decision to locate the new Space Command headquarters in Alabama, reports C4ISRNet. On March 19, the GAO confirmed that it was conducting the review following a request by Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-Colo.) in a letter dated Feb. 1. Lamborn requested the GAO evaluate the methodology and scoring used by the Air Force to select Huntsville, Ala., as the preferred site for the new headquarters. Huntsville was announced as the preferred location in January, beating out competition from Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., among other locations. SPACECOM was initially located at Peterson pending an evaluation of potential permanent sites. Officials expressed concern following the announcement that the decision may have been influenced by then-President Trump to reward political allies. The Dept. of Defense's inspector general is also reviewing the decision, as previously reported by Space News. The GAO will manage the scope and methodology of its review to ensure that the two investigations do not duplicate efforts, reported Inside Defense.

USA—Zumwalt-Class Destroyer To Take On Long-Range, Uncrewed Ops During Fleet Battle Problem USNI News | 03/24/2021 The U.S. Navy will further explore the use of uncrewed systems during an upcoming fleet battle problem in the Pacific, reports USNI News. During the April exercise, the Zumwalt-class destroyer Michael Monsoor will be responsible for command-and-control of crewed and uncrewed platforms performing long-range surveillance and fires missions. Uncrewed assets slated to participate in the event include two Sea Hunter-class medium displacement uncrewed surface vessels (MDUSVs), MQ-8B Fire Scout uncrewed helicopters and MQ-9 Sea Guardian drones. The Navy's Super Swarm project uncrewed capability will also be incorporated. The Sea Hunter-class vessels have previously employed a towed array for anti-submarine warfare missions and carried an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance package for maritime domain awareness. Their outfit for the fleet problem has not been made public. The Sea Guardian will be used for scouting and anti-submarine warfare missions, while the Fire Scout will operate from a Littoral Combat Ship. The exercise is designed to demonstrate the Navy's progress in developing technologies and concepts of operations for crewed-uncrewed teaming.

European Union—New Financial Instrument To Bolster International Peace And Security Efforts Council Of The European Union | 03/24/2021 The European Union has launched a new financial instrument designed to support all foreign actions of a military or defense nature, reports the Council of the European Union, which consists of the ministers of the member states. The European Peace Facility (EPF), worth about 5 billion euros (US$5.9 billion), covers activities from 2021 to 2027 and will be financed through contributions from member states, the council said in a Monday release. The program will enable the E.U. to better support partner countries through aid to peacekeeping missions; national militaries to support peace on their territory; or broader military/defense projects in support of Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) objectives. Assistance could include military- and defense-related equipment, infrastructure or other aid as requested by a country or regional or international organization. All support would be implemented in line with a clear political strategy and appropriate safeguards, the council said.

Bulgaria—Russian Diplomats Expelled In Latest Spy Scandal Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty | 03/24/2021 The Bulgarian government has ordered a pair of Russian diplomats to leave the country after they were discovered to be involved in espionage, reports Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry declared the diplomats to be personae non gratae and ordered them to leave the country within 72 hours, saying they had taken part in activities "incompatible" with their diplomatic status. The diplomats were likely members of Russian military intelligence, reported Al Jazeera (Qatar). The move comes days after Bulgarian prosecutors announced last week that they had arrested six members of an espionage group led by a "former senior member of the defense minister's military intelligence service" who were passing secrets to Russia. The group allegedly included current and former military intelligence officers. Prime Minister Boyko Borisov called on Moscow to halt its intelligence operations in the country. A Russian lawmaker warned that Moscow would respond in kind to the expulsion of its diplomats, reported Russia's state-run Sputnik news agency. The Russian Embassy decried the allegations as an attempt to drive a wedge between Bulgaria and Russia. Since October 2019, Bulgaria has expelled five diplomats and members of the Russian Embassy accused of involvement in spying.

Russia—3 Die In Ejection Seat Accident Tass | 03/24/2021 Three Russian air force personnel have been killed in a mishap involving a Tu-22M bomber, reports Russia's Tass news agency. On Tuesday, the crew was preparing the Tu-22M for takeoff at the Shaikovka air base near the town of Kaluga in central Russia when the ejection system activated. An unnamed source told Tass that the ejection system was activated when the engines were turned on. Three of the four personnel onboard were killed because their parachutes did not inflate in time due to the low altitude. The ejection seats require a minimum speed of 80 mph (130 kph) for safe ejections at altitudes below 200 feet (60 m), noted the War Zone website. The commander of the aviation regiment to which the bomber was assigned was among those killed, reported the Aviationist blog. He was reportedly participating in the flight as an instructor. The pilot reportedly survived and was being treated at a nearby hospital.

North Korea—Pair Of Cruise Missiles Test-Fired Off West Coast Washington Post | 03/24/2021 North Korea launched two short-range rockets in the first such weapons test since President Joe Biden took office in January, reports the Washington Post. On Wednesday, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said that two short-range cruise missiles had been fired off its west coast on Sunday and said that the military had been tracking the test, reported the Yonhap news agency (Seoul). Biden administration officials said the test involved systems that were not covered by U.N. Security Council resolutions restricting Pyongyang's ballistic missile program. The launch is the first since Biden took office and was likely intended to gauge the new administration's response, said analysts. Sources told the Post that Biden's approach to North Korea was expected to differ from the prior administration's emphasis on high-level meetings and the Obama administration's hard line against engagement without concessions. The administration is in the final stages of reviewing its policy and plans to host national security adviser-level talks with Japan and South Korea in Washington next week to discuss it, reported the Financial Times (U.K.).

Of Defense | 03/24/2021 The Australian Dept. of Defense and Naval Group have agreed to amend their partnership agreement covering the construction of conventional submarines for the Australian navy. The amendments formalize Naval Group's commitment to spend 60 percent of the contract value of the Attack-class submarine program in Australia, the department said in a release on Tuesday. Under the amended agreement, Naval Group is required to approach the Australian market first for most of the equipment for the boats and establish procurement organizations in Australia. The shipbuilder will report the value of its expenditures in Australia to the government over the life of the program. The project covers the construction of 12 Attack-class subs, a conventional variant of the French Suffren class. Construction of the first sub is anticipated to begin in 2023, with delivery slated for the early 2030s, noted Naval News.

On Tuesday, soldiers of the 62nd Infantry Battalion were investigating a tip about suspected militants in Guihulngan City when they encountered about 40 gunmen, said a spokesman for the 3rd Division. The fighting lasted for three hours, he said. An officer from the 303rd Infantry Brigade told the GMA Network (Manila) that the military counted eight NPA corpses following the encounter in the Trinidad neighborhood. Soldiers recovered 11 high-powered firearms, including two M16 and two M14 rifles and a KG9 submachine gun, and at least two land mines, reported the Cebu Daily News. The Karen National Union (KNU) said that it would not attend the ceremony on March 27. In a statement, the KNU said that it would "only attend ceremonies that reflect dignity, humanity, justice and freedom for all." Armed Forces Day, also known as Resistance Day, celebrates the Burmese victory over the Japanese in World War II. Representatives of the All Burma Students' Democratic Front (ABSDF) and Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO) also said they would not attend the event. One group, the New Mon State Party (NMSP), said it was unsure if it would attend. The groups are all signatories to the Nationwide Cease-Fire Agreement (NCA), a comprehensive truce reached in 2015. Several armed groups have made public statements against the military coup on Feb. 1 that overthrew Burma's civilian government. Some have provided support and protection to protesters. Many, including the KNU, have reported increased armed confrontations with the military since the coup.

India—Water-Sharing Talks Held With Islamabad India Today | 03/24/2021 India and Pakistan are holding their first talks over water issues since 2018, reports India Today. The Permanent Indus Commission met in New Delhi on Tuesday and Wednesday. The commission was established under the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty that governs allocation of the six rivers flowing through the Indus valley. The commission is intended to meet annually, alternating between India and Pakistan. It last met in Lahore in August 2018. Talks in 2019 fell victim to increased tensions after a suicide bombing in Kashmir that India blamed on Pakistani militants and New Delhi's subsequent decision to strip the region of its autonomous status, noted Reuters. Last year's talks were disrupted by the novel coronavirus pandemic. The meeting is another sign that both sides are seeking to reduce tensions. Pakistan is expected to raise concerns over the designs of the Pakal Dul and Lower Kalnai hydroelectric plants planned by India during this week's talks. Islamabad is concerned that the projects could hinder waterflows downstream.   Indian officials said they would allay such concerns during the talks.

On Tuesday, a bus carrying members of the District Reserve Guard, a state police force consisting of local tribesmen, was hit by improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the Narayanpur district. At least 14 personnel were injured, three critically. Three IEDs were planted in a drainage pipe under a bridge, said police. The blast caused the bus to tumble off the road into the dry bed under the bridge. The security forces were returning from an anti-Maoist militant operation in the Abujhmad forests at the time, reported the Press Trust of India. The attack was attributed to Maoist militants from the Communist Party of India-Maoist, who are also called Naxalites. This was the first major attack by the Maoists this year, officials said.

Pakistan is hosting a counterterrorism exercises under the aegis of the China-led Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) later this year at the National Counterterrorism Center in Pabbi in the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The final date and participants for that exercise have not been determined. The proposal remains under consideration by the Indian and Pakistani governments and would represent the first time that Indian troops participated in an exercise on Pakistani soil. Indian and Pakistani troops took part in the same joint exercise for the first time in 2018. That drill also took place under the SCO.

Pakistan—TTP Claims Baluchistan Blast That Killed 4 Voice Of America News | 03/24/2021 At least four people have been killed in an explosion near a paramilitary office in Pakistan's southwestern Baluchistan province, reports the Voice of America News. On Tuesday, a device detonated near an office of the Levies paramilitary force in Chaman, near the Afghan border, said police. The explosive was hidden in a motorcycle parked near the site, said the officials. At least 13 people were injured. Rescue workers said that most of the casualties were civilians. Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, also called the Pakistani Taliban (TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack, reported the Dawn (Karachi).

Israel—Jets Hit Gaza After Rocket Lands Near Beersheba Jerusalem Post | 03/24/2021 The Israeli air force launched airstrikes on targets in the Gaza Strip after a rocket fired from the region landed near Beersheba in southern Israel, reports the Jerusalem Post. On Tuesday, the rocket launched by Palestinian groups landed in an open area near Beersheeba while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was making a campaign visit in the city, reported Haaretz (Israel). In response, Israeli jets struck sites near Gaza City and Deir Al-Balah, according to Palestinian reports. The attacks follow several recent incidents in which Palestinian civilians were killed in the West Bank and Gaza. Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) has threatened a response.

Ethiopia—Abiy Acknowledges Presence Of Eritrean Troops In Tigray Agence France-Presse | 03/24/2021 Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has acknowledged that troops from neighboring Eritrea are fighting in the northern Tigray region, reports Agence France-Presse. In a speech to Parliament on Tuesday, Abiy said that the foreign troops had done Ethiopia "a lasting favor." However, any damage done by Eritrean troops in Ethiopia was "unacceptable." Eritrean officials said the move was a national security measure and that its troops would withdraw if Ethiopian forces returned, the prime minister said. Eritrean troops took over positions along the border with the Tigray region after the Ethiopian soldiers deployed there had abandoned them, said Abiy. The Ethiopian prime minister did not confirm reports that Eritrean troops had deployed to Tigrayan cities, where they have been accused of killing hundreds of civilians. Abiy's statement is the first official acknowledgement that Eritrean troops are in Ethiopia. He also acknowledged credible reports of rape and other war crimes by Ethiopian soldiers during the fighting against the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), which began in November, and pledged to hold those responsible accountable, reported the BBC.

Senegal—Air Force Takes Delivery Of Maritime Patrol Aircraft In Indonesia Defence Web | 03/24/2021 The Senegalese air force has taken delivery of a new maritime patrol aircraft from the Indonesian manufacturer, reports Defence Web (South Africa). On March 19, the CN-235-200 maritime patrol aircraft was officially handed over during a ceremony at the PT Dirgantara Indonesia facility. Senegal ordered the CN-235-200 in a maritime patrol configuration in August 2017 through AD Trade Belgium. PTDI rolled out the aircraft on Aug. 4, and it made its first flight in December 2020. A second CN-235 maritime patrol aircraft was ordered in May 2020. That aircraft is expected to be delivered later this year. Senegal's aircraft are equipped with a forward-looking infrared sensor in the nose and a belly-mounted radar for maritime surveillance operations.
